Growing Up – Part Two
High School – Year Two
Christmas Bloodshed
The day started up like any other; but this would also be a second changing point in her life, another changing point of many that were to come in their lives together. The car ride over was boring, and she was hurt by the fact Kuro was oddly quiet the entire time; but she was happy about the fact that he would be staying in the pool house only feet away from where she would be staying.
They pulled into the driveway, and when he kissed her cheek good bye she couldn’t stop herself from blushing. She waved to him goodbye and headed in with her bag to her three days of hell; she knew they would be hell, but she wouldn’t let anyone else know.
The first person to greet her was her favorite female in the entire world, Lizzy, the little 15 year old who was like her little sister now, even after only a year of their parents being together. She was a beautiful little blond haired girl who would never grow any taller than five foot exactly, which made the five foot two Flick feel tall for once. While her eyes were a muddy brown they still did nothing to dampen her beauty.
She nearly jumped onto Flick when she entered the home; her arms wrapping around her new older sister’s neck. “Flick! Pa!! Flick is here finally!” She jumped in spot a few times with her arms still around Flick and instantly went still as her father stepped into the hallway.
He was a large man at six feet exactly, and he had to weigh at least the same as a large bull; yet he wasn’t fat in any way at all, he simply made Cross look tiny in comparison. He was also a gruff older man who was at least fifty something; making Alice, 42, look young. He was balding rather badly with only a crown of black hair left around the bald spot. His eyes were also an inhuman green; Alice said she had fallen madly in love with those first. They stared into your soul the same way Flick’s did; only darker. They begged to crush it.
He nodded once towards Flick then pushed his way past his oldest daughter and his new wife, Alice, to head back into the living room and drop himself back into his large chair in front of the television. His oldest daughter, Mary, simply looked like a less attractive older version of her younger sister; and she was 26 years old and only here visiting like Flick was; she was married to an Irish man and lived up in New York. She was also four months pregnant.
Alice quickly got to Flick the moment Lizzy let her go to follow her older sister back to their shared bed room. She wrapped her arms carefully around Flick, and Flick had to keep herself from tearing through the wall to rip her ‘step-father’s’ head off when she knew it wasn’t because Alice was scared to hurt her.
“I’m so glad you came, this time will be different, you’ll see.” Alice’s voice was calm and quiet for the first time ever, flick had never heard her speak so carefully before, like she was terrified to step in the wrong spot on an extremely thin layer of ice. She probably was…
“You know I wouldn’t miss a chance to see you for anything…” Flick felt the lie in her throat, and had to hold it back. She honestly wouldn’t miss a chance to see Dave in there step in the wrong spot with her; then she could save Alice and his daughters for good.
They ate dinner silently that night, and Dave only screamed at them about five times; Flick lost count but knew that normally he was worse. The girls said nothing, and stared at the table while they ate, Dave sitting at the head of the table with Alice on his right side. He talked too loudly about things they had to pretend to be interested in, and he laughed even louder than that, he didn’t seem to mind it when none of them laughed back with him.
Dinner ended on a fine note, not good; but not bad, and that was all that mattered. Dave left the girls to clean while he returned to watching TV, screaming at the screen whenever something happened that shouldn’t have. None of them dared speak to each other and cleaned the table in silence. The moment it was clean Lizzy took Flick upstairs and to her room, where the silence was finally broken.
Lizzy listened overly interestedly as Flick spoke of the ‘men’ in her life; leaving Cross out for a reason she couldn’t point. Lizzy said Eric sounded like a good friend; and Kuro like a great big-brother figure, while poor Chris seemed to be the odd sheep out. Amazingly, she had gathered all this just for the human parts of Flick’s life, and Flick agreed.
After Flick was done explaining the past year of her life Lizzy added in hers. She had gone off and gotten a boyfriend in the big city where she lived with her Mom; she also made sure that Flick understood that if Dave ever found out they’d all be killed. Flick didn’t doubt this at all, but simply nodded her head. Then Liz brought up a topic Flick had never thought about before.
“So, what about you, any boys catch your eye?” She giggled, and kept her voice hushed so their conversation wouldn’t be heard.
Flick was quiet for a moment; actually have to consider this question for a moment. She had never actually pondered this before; she had never needed to or thought it important. She didn’t think about marriage ever, and knew she could never date a human; that would simply be dragging him into this mess of her life, something Chris wasn’t even supposed to be involved in.
“None…I guess. Dating isn’t…important at this moment.” She laughed nervously and watched Lizzy face, which dropped in a ‘No Way!’ expression before she nearly fell off the bed. She would have if it wasn’t for the wall she was leaning against now.
“No way! You hang out with those two older boys and you still haven’t found anyone!?” She had spoken louder than she meant to, and locked her hand over her mouth to silence the room before she was satisfied her father was still downstairs.
“Well… Eric has been with me since second grade, and Kuro is too…old?” She couldn’t find the words to describe why she wasn’t interested in Kuro, because in all honesty she would ‘be with him’ if it ever became a necessity. She just didn’t imagine Pegasus, a creature who had been alive long enough to see both world wars, to be interested in a mortal; someone who would age and pass away like all the others.
“He’s only twenty…” Liz responded quietly and slowly, as if she was letting the age register in her mind before she let out a silent giggle. Twenty, alright, so he was old now; but what about after high school. She took a quick glance over Flick, the innocent young woman sitting before her with the dark blue eyes that just screamed lifetimes… maybe she wouldn’t ever settle down.
Flick sighed, listening to her own thoughts as they rambled on through the silence. She had never realized how young she was compared to the rest of the group. Chris was even a few months older than her, even though he too was only 16 right now. Eric was a year older than both of them, at 17. Kuro was already 20, according to all the mortals who knew it; and Cross…Cross was the oldest at 22.
She sighed, doing the math in her head and calculating all their birthdays; it wasn’t a conversation ever spoken of, since only Chris felt the need to celebrate his birthday. Kuro’s birthday was first in the year, January 2nd; of course his year changed every time he started over a new life, so Flick never learned. Cross’s birthday was next, April something; it was either the 13th or 23rd she could never remember. Then it was Chris’s on the 30th exactly of April, he would never let anyone go without memorizing it. Then it was hers, July 18th. Finally, it was Eric’s; October 26th.
She ran through the dates and months on her fingers; Kuro would be 21, Cross would be 23, Chris and her would be 17, and Eric would be 18. They were all getting older, and yet she still felt like the baby. School had also been ‘fixed’ so that everyone was in their respective grades. This was fixed thanks to a text that they all took to get them back on schedule. Starting this upcoming semester Kuro would be done with school, Eric would be a senior, and she and Chris would be juniors. So the test had done nothing but put her in advanced placement classes and put Eric with the rest of his age group, and let Kuro finish.
She sighed; it was all so confusing and school was the last thing any of them worried about anymore. She just knew that if it wasn’t for Kuro convincing her to purposely get some of the questions wrong she’d be done with school just as he was. He said it would be too suspicious, and that they had to wait for Eric at least to graduate.
Lizzy was becoming impatient with the silence, and she was the first to speak; her voice ringing in beauty, not as pretty as Flick’s according to anyone else, but Flick enjoyed listening to her talk. She was not only 15, but happily ignorant of anything but the mortal realm. If it wasn’t for Kuro, Flick would have happily lived as a human girl.
“Why are you being so quiet, Flick? It looks like something is bothering you.” She spoke quietly; Flick must have really looked worried about something. This brought a quick smile to Flick’s lips, and she shook her head gently.
“No no, I was just going over all our ages in our head. It’s shocking that I’m the youngest.” She laughed slightly to herself, an angelic sound that left Lizzy speechless for a few moments.
They spoke the rest of the night of random things, and for a good night Flick enjoyed the ease of being a normal female human teenager. It lasted well into the morning; until the door bell went off, and Dave went to answer. It was silent downstairs while everyone listened, Flick could feel everyone listening; especially when Dave’s thanks shot out in his hard angry voice and the door slammed; so hard she was personally surprised it didn’t shatter that side of the home.
“LIZZY MARIE!” His voice boomed, and Flick glanced towards her step-sister just long enough to catch the dread in her eyes. She knew what had come in the mail that day, and knew that her biggest secret had been spoiled. Flick felt her skin crawl as she watched the young teenager stand; wearing nothing but her pink pajama pants and matching pink pajama long-sleeved shirt.
Flick mouthed a ‘be carefully’ and watched even more helplessly as the teenager left the room, and nearly stumbled downstairs. The moment her body had disappeared from view into the hallway Alice and Mary slipped into the bed room. They were both fully dressed now, and gave one dread filled look towards Flick before motioning her to join them.
Flick took no time getting dressed; she threw on her clothes after stripping as quickly as humanly possible, mindless to the fact the other two women stood there waiting for her. She met them in the doorway, and saw that Mary’s eyes were red; she was trying not to cry. Everyone knew what was coming soon, and everyone knew that it would be even more dangerous to try and stop him.
Before Lizzy even made it down the stairs she was taken by her long beautiful blond hair and torn down the last four steps. There her massive father held her against his face; glaring down at the fragile mortal. No one would ever tell his daughters the truth, of how he hadn’t been their real father. Of course he wasn’t, or else they too would have some wolf demon blood in them. He had met their mother when Mary was still only 10 and pregnant with Liz; their father had died merely months before. Their mother had fallen for his eyes as well; but unlike Alice she knew when to run. It was only too bad he had connections in the law, a blood thirsty half blood had to.
He snarled at her, his left hand entangled in her hair; and the look of pain on her face was so great it was a wonder how her will not to cry out kept so intact. He threw her against the wall; her left shoulder cracking on impact, at that she let out a soft whimper. He turned his back to her to bring out a tiny box. It was a tiny box covered in black felt, and he snapped it open breaking the top off to show her the inside.
She felt her mouth drop at the sight of the golden chained necklace. The pendant was made of two golden hearts welded together, each heart with a name on it; John on one heart, and her own on the other. The moment it clicked in her mind to what had happened it was too late; she didn’t even had time to register the pain in her limp jaw, or the fact that the entire right side of her body had suddenly gone numb which everything else went black.
Flick had reached it to the hall in front of the other two, and had gotten there just in time to see Dave backhand Liz so hard that Lizzy’s body had skidded across the ground a good two feet before her head crashed into the front door; cracking the glass. Her body had instantly gone limp on impact; her left arm twisted in an inhuman way behind her body. Her elbow was bent the wrong way, and her shoulder was obviously broken while her arm was obviously disconnected. The thing, however, that Flick noticed first were Lizzy’s open eyes, which had rolled into the back of her head and were beginning to bleed; joining the blood which dripped slowly out of her open mouth; her jaw split at the chin from the impact of his hand. She felt a strange tension build in her chest; and an all too familiar tension grow in the air around her.
Dave looked over Lizzy’s limp body, and bent over by her to grab her once again by her hair; this he did rougher than the way a child would hold their battered rag doll. He twisted her body quickly; the sound of her spine cracking sending a new rave of fury through Flick as she watched. He pulled her then through the tiny hallway into the living room, ignoring Flick and the two other women completely as he disappeared behind the stairway and into the other room.
Alice waited till he was gone and began to pull Flick down the stairs; she refused to budge and she silently pleaded with her adopted daughter while Mary pushed her way past them. They had to run now, she reasoned, before he came back and killed them all. If he knew Flick had seen everything he would kill them all. Please, please, she begged over and over. Flick’s eyes narrowed…
Finally she pushed her way past Alice and then Mary who had watched their exchange from the bottom of the stairs, her eyes trying desperately to convince Flick. At first they both seemed happy, Flick was walking down the stairs on her own now, maybe she was ready to run; and then Flick turned sharply at the edge of the stairs and began down the tiny hall. She wouldn’t run, not being watching that man suffer.
In the living room Dave had dropped Lizzy’s still living but limp body on the couch. He stared over her limp body lovingly, and noticed that her eyes were no longer in the back of her head; but that her pupils had enlarged and that blood was crusted along the outsides of her eyelids. She had dried blood in the crease of her lips and trailed down her chin. Her jaw hung open uselessly, broken in more spots than one. He smiled almost lovely at her, and bent over as if to kiss her…his teeth locking around her lower lip before tearing his head away to rip it clean from her face. He managed to tear off more than just her lip, and her broken jaw hung there only connected by torn muscle. He stood up to turn towards Flick; blood overflowing his mouth as he chewed the girl’s lip and flesh before swallowing.
It wasn’t even a decent piece of human meat, but it was enough to light his desire to devour her. He watched Flick emotionlessly as he chewed and swallowed; she stared back almost equally emotionless now. Her eyes burned, and he grinned the moment he felt the tension in the room grow. So, this was ‘that’ Felicia he had heard so much of. He was looking forward to a battle, although he feared without that horse and hunter by her side it wouldn’t be so much of a fight.
That was when they were both snapped out of their staring contest by the sound of a gun being cocked. Flick didn’t even have to turn to see Alice in the reflection of Dave’s eyes; her mind screamed at her.
No…No….No damn it Run!
Her voice mentally screamed, but her mouth was incapable of saying anything; her lips twisted back from her mouth in a silent snarl, and she prepared herself to run at Dave before he made a move…then he was gone, and she heard Alice whimper behind her. She turned quickly, her eyes blurring the scenery around her to see Dave holding the tip of the gun at Alice’s head, his newly clawed left hand locked tightly around her neck, already drawing blood.
“Let her go.” She was surprised by her own voice; by how quickly and smoothly her words slipped out of her lips, yet it was her voice. Perfect and laced with command…but he didn’t shift, he simply grinned at her, his face darker and his teeth sharper. He wanted to see everything she was capable of.
Flick didn’t let her eyes give her away…she kept her eyes straight at Dave, silently watching as Mary crept up behind him with a bat in her hands. It wouldn’t kill him, or even hurt him that badly in all honesty, but it would allow her time to pull them away… She watched silently as Mary slowly rose the bat, closed her eyes, and she heard the swing and the sound of metal against metal. She was right, he didn’t appear hurt, but he did drop the gun and shriek away from Alice to hold himself up against the wall and shake his vision back into place.
Flick took the five seconds to help Mary pull Alice and run with them into the farthest room in the back of the house, the master bedroom. She didn’t spend any time to even think about Liz; who was grabbing blankly at her missing bottom lip with her right hand while tears streamed down her face. Her entire body was still numbed, and she could comprehend anything she was seeing, and her finger tips were bloody and her lip gone and she couldn’t move.
The moment Dave recollected himself he re-gathered the shot gun and stalked over to Liz. He locked his right hand around her right wrist, twisted quickly to snap the bones of her arm and dragged her into the master bed room; they had nowhere to run and the three women were pushed against the back wall as he stepped into the room and threw Liz to the ground in front of him. He watched the girls closely and with a morbid fascination as they stared at Liz; all but Flick who was still glaring silently back at him with those deadly eyes.
He carefully aligned his foot up with his youngest daughter’s chest, and stepped. The crushing sound was horrid, and everyone in the room cringed and let out a cry; everyone except for him and Flick. He continued to push down, Lizzy’s stomach stretching and popping to release the wave of entrails and blood which spilled out on either side of his foot. Flick had glanced down at her just long enough to watch her chest rise and fall for a finally moment, and then returned her eyes to Dave…that was when he noticed they had a tiny bit of red tint to them now.
So there was more to her then…he grinned to himself; he wanted to see just how much more of her there was. He got as close to Lizzy’s face with the gun as possible, letting the cool metal end rest against her cheek. He locked his eyes on Flick, blocking out the other two crying women to watch her eyes narrow on his. He pulled the trigger, and the gun went off. Everyone in the room jumped and began to cry openly, everyone except for him and Flick. Her eyes had grown darker, but only he and other immortals would be able to tell.
He was so engrossed in her changing eye color that he didn’t notice the splash of blood he now had on his hand nor did he notice the splattered blood and guts now on the floor and wall.
Meer seconds passed, and there was a thud on the back door behind him; a cracking sound and the door came crashing into the room. Kuro stood there panting, looking at the gruesome scene before him. Dave noticed first how Flick’s eyes instantly softened the moment the door broke in behind him, and how the color faded completely back to blue, and how her hardened features had softened. Fear covered her expression now, and he became enraged. He was so close!
He turned quickly, letting his right arm swing with the gun till he was pointing at the white haired older teen; his arm easily holding the shot gun up by itself. His lips curled back from his teeth in a sickly grin, and he felt his anger grow as the boy grinned back at him; so angry he ignored the obvious scent of the well-hidden Pegasus.
“So much for Happy Holidays…” He muttered before letting the trigger pull back. The gunshot was loud, louder than all the others, and Flick felt her entire body pulse as she saw Kuro shot at pointblank and fall back.
Before Kuro could stand up again and get the half-breed outside Flick had lunged at him; pulling away from Alice and Mary with almost too much strength, they were both huddled against the wall watching the scene unfold before them in complete horror. Kuro pulled himself down against the door he had fallen onto so he could dodge Dave as his body fell and rolled onto the other side of the room; Flick clinging to him like a mad dog.
Kuro pushed himself up quickly, and turned to the other two women; whose faces of horror only grew as they saw that the should be corpse was sitting up and watching them with nothing to show for it except for a bloody hole above his right eye that was healing even before their eyes. Alice had to hold Mary up now, who was obviously about to pass out. Kuro was snapped out of watching their exasperated faces by the sound of snarling; a horrid awful gut-churning sound that sounded exactly like two wild dogs going at it. The scene he saw reminded him horrible of how Flick had changed after the vampire attack that left her passed out in the hospital; how she had drained of color, how her blood had thinned, how she had grown fangs that showed up again when she had gone up against the female vampire, and how she had gone so cold. She had become vampire like…
Here she was facing off with this half wolf demon man fighting in the exact same style as he was, and actually holding her own.
When Dave had shot at Kuro Flick had lost all control of her being; her hands had clenched into claws and she felt her teeth grow sharper in her mouth. She felt her body becoming stronger and she lunged at Dave with her entire arsenal of weapons aimed for his jugular; her newly formed claws and fangs. She had hit his body hard, expecting it to stop her the way the male vampire’s body did; instead it went quiet easily with her across the ground, barely missing Kuro’s body. They had hit the ground with her on top of him, and she instantly went in to crush her jaw against his throat only to be forced off of him. That was when the snarling and fighting began and that was when she lost herself in it. Every once in a while she would feel a sharp pain across her chest, tearing her shirt, or across her legs, tearing her jeans, and every once in a while she would feel skin collect under her nails or taste blood in her mouth.
The two of them were fighting like dogs for almost too long, and when Kuro finally regained his feet he stumbled for the gun, aimed at nothing, and shot; once, twice, three times, a few times more. Dave got to his feet and stood there a moment looking stupidly at Kuro. Flick got to her feet a mere foot in front of him, and managed to throw herself at him with enough strength to force him through the wall next to the door. Dave let out a scream as his mass broke through the side wall, and they went tumbling together down the slight hill towards the lake; stopping mere feet away from the water.
Kuro yelled at the other two to stay there and ran after them. Mary and Alice both collapsed into sitting positions against the wall and cried against each other, making Kuro’s command rather stupid and pointless.
Eric stumbled into the house the moment Flick forced Dave outside and he quickly followed the trail of blood out to where they were, he too paid no attention to the two crying mortals and found Kuro outside.
“What the hell is going on!?” His voice cracked on his question, and he was answered quickly as his eyes found the fight going on near the lake.
“Holy shit! She’s going to get murdered!! Kuro!! Do something!!!” He screamed at Kuro, feeling his entire body shake as he searched frantically for the pistol that he kept attached to his belts during calls like this. The normally easy to remove weapon found itself stuck to his pants, and he whimpered in desperation to try to get it out; the idiot simply pulling the wrong way in stress.
“I’m trying to figure it out…” Kuro’s voice choked off, and this allowed Eric enough time to remove the weapon calmly; Kuro sounded worried…and this brought Eric from his panic for a moment… Kuro was worried…Oh god!
Eric’s mind snapped like a rubber band and he took off down the hill, leaving Kuro screaming for him. He loaded the gun while he ran towards the two fighting bodies; cocked the gun, took aim the second the two separated to prepare to lunge back into the battle in hopes of gaining ground, and shot. He locked his legs under him and came to a sitting position on the damp grass to keep his aim steady, he shot again, and again, and again until all that came from his gun was a clicking sound.
Two of the shots had landed themselves in Dave’s left shoulder, and his arm went numb as the poisoned bullets did their job. They weren’t enough though, and Eric saw this as he turned to glare at the gun holder…the bastard who had shot him. It was enough to calm Flick down enough to allow herself to turn and see Eric, and then Kuro…the sight of him instantly brought her back to reality, and Kuro caught sight of her red eyes for only a second before they went blue, and a smile pushed onto her lips…he was okay…
Then her mind registered a scream; a blood curdling, gut retching, male scream, and then bones cracking…and silence… She felt her body go limp, and her world locked into slow motion around her. She turned her head to see Eric being held up by his right wrist by Dave…whose body had morphed into some awful looking creature. His body was covered thinly in thick black hair. His mouth was elongated like a wolf, yet still human like; and he was larger, much larger…at least seven feet now, but unable to stand up straight, his knees bent as if he would be much more comfortable on all fours. His jeans were torn, exposing a large, fluffy and black wolf-like tail. His ears were elongated like his jaw, and the furriest part of him.
He held Eric up very close to his face. Eric’s right arm was dislocated, and the rest of his body was limp. His left leg was twisted at the thigh; it had been stepped on and crushed, the bone sticking out through the skin, blood dripping down his leg. All up and down the leg were various claw marks, deep wounds in his flesh that even went down to the bone at times. His knee had been completed chewed off. Eric’s head hung back limply, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Dave sniffed all too interestedly at his throat.
Kuro watched the scene from the house with horror and pain etched into his face…Cross stood emotionless next to him, holding him back. He knew that if they intervened now Eric would have his neck snapped and there would be no way to save him. This had turned into Flick’s battle…and everyone wanted to see how she would handle it.
The tension in the air grew so think around everyone that even Cross noticed it…it had almost become hard to breath. He watched Flick closely…noticing that for the first time ever…her eyes remained that perfect dark blue…
The wind picked up around her, and Dave stopped just inches away from biting into Eric’s neck; the wind ruffling his fur. Cross never took his eyes off her….the second this got out of hand he would shot, he had his gun ready just for that.
The wind picked up, this time solely around her and Dave; and he noticed it right away. He dropped Eric carelessly, Eric’s body falling limp against the ground; his eyes finally closed. The wind beat against Dave’s body, and he turned slowly to face whatever creature Flick had become now.
Flick stood there; her dark blue eyes empty of emotion, the wind around them beating her slightly longer than shoulder length black hair against her face and shoulders. The water behind her stirred and she locked her eyes on Dave’s; he instantly felt the connection, his skin crawling and the blood under his flesh beginning to twist and pull. He couldn’t breathe, his chest grew heavy, his heart struggled to pump; and it was all her.
She felt this power as his body became helpless in her own; ignorant now of the power she had for that moment over the wind and water behind her, and the moment she became ignorant of it the wind froze and the water calmed, all of her attention going into bringing him to his knees. To make him scream; her eyes tinted red.
Cross saw this, and prepared his gun, he would wait until it was absolutely out of control; and then he would shot. He growled to himself, and felt Kuro tense against his hand, his own hand still locked on his shoulder… Kuro knew what they were waiting for, and was watching for the signs too.
Flick began to raise her right hand slowly towards Dave; feeling the wonderful pleasure of the strings wrap around her hand, causing the tension between her and Dave’s flesh, his eyes widened….he felt it too. This brought a grin to her lips, and her eyes darkened slightly in color. There was still blue…she was still in control…he wouldn’t shoot yet.
Dave’s body was pulled to the ground, he struggled against it; and Flick’s hand tensed as she brought him to his knees. He could feel his skin blistering as he fought against the mental strings. He could feel his blood mold to her command and solidify in his veins.
She felt it too, and her lips pulled back from her teeth in a smile; exposing the large fangs that had shown up the last time this happened to her. She felt the power consume her, and she wanted it to consume her. She wasn’t a child here, with this full grown half demon bowing to her. She wanted to make him scream, and twisted her fingers slightly to make him cry out in agony; her eyes almost fully red now. She was unaware of the gun Cross had pointed at her; and Cross took a silent step past Kuro to better aim. Kuro didn’t stop him… he would try to stop Flick first.
Dave felt his heart stop and begin to ache in his chest, the blood filling the muscle in his chest until he screamed out in pain. It was unbearable, it felt as if it was about to burst. He clawed at the ground in a desperate attempt to get it to stop. His eyes begged her…please…please make it stop…please…
She heard loud and clear, and the pain intensified…
“Not until you scream louder…” Her voice was darker…beautiful but darker…she loved this new voice…it made her feel so much stronger than everyone else…and in all reality she was…she was so much stronger than all of these people! Mortals would bow to her; immortals would bow to her!
Dave screamed as his head popped back; his neck cracking and twisting around completely on top of his shoulders. This silenced his scream immediately, and even though his body should have fallen limp at that moment Flick kept it up, tearing his back slowly; just to watch it tear and just to watch the blood spill into the ground. Her eyes had gone completely red now; and she was oblivious to Kuro’s cries for her to stop…and to Cross as he walked somberly towards her; his weapon ready.
He swallowed hard, and cocked the gun; aiming directly for her chest, a shot that would kill her instantly. He felt his hands shake and he shock it off quietly, knowing he had to shot now and get it over with. Even Kuro was incapable of stopping her now, and he was on his knees crying for her at this moment. His world went silent, his mind seeing her face in his head…watching him as he spoke…as if he hadn’t noticed the way she watched him…
He swallowed again, lowered the gun for a second…and then took straight aim on her chest… It had to be done…she had to be killed now…as he had known she also had to… A creature such as her shouldn’t exist in this world… She was too dangerous…
Yet there she was in his mind… laughing and smiling and watching him with her large perfect blue eyes…
He felt the trigger softly with his index finger…
